XXV Edition
From 20 September to 19 October 2025, Parma and Busseto will celebrate a double anniversary dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi and William Shakespeare: the 25th Edition of Festival Verdi.
To mark this important milestone, the Festival Verdi programmes features three major titles: Otello and Macbeth (in the version of 1847) in two new productions staged by the Teatro Regio workshops, directed by Federico Tiezzi and Manuel Renga respectively, and Falstaff, directed by Jacopo Spirei. Roberto Abbado, Francesco Lanzillotta and Michele Spotti will take to the podium to conduct the orchestra.
Completing the main programme are two unmissable events: the Messa da Requiem, conducted by Robert Treviño, and the traditional Verdian Gala, conducted by Paolo Carignani. Alongside these, Ramificazioni, the section dedicated to contemporary experimentation, also returns.
Among the protagonists of this edition are big names from the international opera scene such as Fabio Sartori, Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, Mariangela Sicilia, Davide Luciano, Misha Kiria, Roberta Mantegna, Marta Torbidoni and Michele Pertusi, together with young talents from the Verdian Academy directed by Francesco Izzo. Collaborations with La Toscanini Foundation, the Choir of Regio Theatre of Parma prepared by Martino Faggiani and the National Institute of Verdian Studies have been confirmed and strengthened.
