Torrechiara Castle was built between 1448 and 1460 by Pier Maria Rossi “the Magnificent” and is one of the most significant and best preserved examples of Italian castle architecture.

Inside the Castle you can find the extraordinary “Gold Chamber”, ascribed to Benedetto Bembo, to celebrate, at that time, the delicate love story between Pier Maria and Bianca Pellegrini and the power of the dynasty through the representation of the castles of the feud.

The “grotesque” frescoes by Cesare Baglione are astonishing.
