Here in 1805 Giuseppe Verdi’s parents got married.

The history of music, and the history of our country that counts for all the music lovers in the world cannot ignore this small neoclassical church.

Here is preserved the Annunciation by Vincenzo Campi (1581) and a depiction of Christ in leather, which is said to be miraculously arrived in Busseto because of a flood of the river Po.

Maybe because he loved that place, perhaps because devotee, or perhaps simply as a citizen of Busseto, Verdi composed the four “Notturni”, went lost, for the procession that even today bring Christ in triumph every Good Friday in the main street of the town.
