Montechiarugolo Castle was built in the 15th century on the remains of a preexisting settlement.

A legend claims that still today the phantom of Fairy Bema is wandering around the beautiful frescoed rooms of the Castle.

This masterpiece, during the 15th century, acquires new splendor with Pomponio Torelli, renowned humanist and intellectual: it becomes the destination for an elected circle of artists and eminent guests, including Pope Paul III and the king of France Francis I.
